Local Statistics for 1994 (unless otherwise noted):

  • The Tucson Police Department received 289 reports of adult sexual assaults. TPD received 405 reports of juvenile sexual abuse cases.

  • The Pima County Sheriff's Department received 107 reports of adult sexual assaults and 130 reports of juvenile sexual abuse cases.

  • The University of Arizona Police Department received 6 reports of students raped within the jurisdiction of the campus and 21 other sexual offenses committed.

  • South Tucson Police Department received 12 reports of adult sexual assaults in 1992.

  • Of the approximately 60 cases brought to the Pima County Attorney's Office for review in 1992, approximately 60% were issued; of issued cases 15% went to trial.
