About the Dine Out for Safety
Committee
This year will be our seventh annual
Dine Out For Safety. The Center holds this event each April to raise funds for
sexual assault services provided to our community. The response from the community
has been tremendous, virtually doubling in size every year. We hope that 2003
will be another record-breaking year.
Dine Out, sponsored at local restaurants,
raises money through proceeds from each dinner check, generously donated by
our participating restaurants, as well as through corporate underwriting from
our community. In addition, raffle tickets are sold to generate additional
funds. The prizes range from gift certificates for personal services to fabulous
art.
We could not be successful without
the generous support of our volunteers. The Dine Out Committee is a fun, productive
team of approximately 20 community volunteers. To join this group, please

As a volunteer Dine Out For Safety
Committee Member, we ask for your participation in the following ways:
- Attend monthly meetings, at
a different restaurant sponsor location each month
- Serve on one of five sub-committees:
(Underwriting, Restaurants, Raffle, Media/PR, Celebrity Hosts)
- Solicit five raffle prizes,
values at $25 or higher
- Sell 50 $10 Dine Out raffle
tickets prior to the event
- During Dine Out, serve as host
and coordinate arrivals, departures, questions, supplies, etc., for all
other volunteers participating at your assigned restaurant (celebs, Center
staff, board, etc.)
Sub-committee leadership requirements:
- Recruit sub-committee members
- Schedule and coordinate sub-committee
meetings
- Lead sub-committee meetings
- Take meeting notes and distribute
to sub-committee members
