Katlyn Monje, SACASA Supervisor, has a terrible poker face: when she doesn't like something, she wrinkles up her nose.

What she does love, though, is her work with SACASA. "I do this work because survivors deserve to be heard, validated and supported," she says. "It is an incredible privilege to serve survivors, although the ultimate goal is to eliminate sexual violence and put us out of this line of work."

According to RAINN, "13% of all students experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation (among all graduate and undergraduate students)." And that's just the ones that are reported.

It's critical that college students have support from their campus community, which is why we're so thankful for UA Survivor Advocacy, their partnership with SACASA and the support they're able to provide survivors of sexual violence at the University of Arizona. #SAAM2021 #tucsaam

How can survivors of sexual trauma best heal? "Healing comes when survivors learn how to tune in and honor their own experiences," says SACASA Therapist, Amber Pitello, LAMFT.

"Time and again, I see survivors come to the point where they want to advocate for themselves and for others, when they internalize the truth that they are not at fault for the assault."

Let us help you honor your experience through therapy at SACASA. #TucSAAM #SAAM2021
